values and vision for my youth ministry

So with the trantition of many new young people into my youth group, i decided to write up the values and in that the vision of what kind of community my youth group will aim to be as we get new people in.  this is what ive come up with...

Being a part of youth group is an exciting thing and can be lots of fun, but in order to make it fun for everyone (adults included, because if the adults aren’t having fun, they will stop coming and there won’t be any youth group) there are a few rules we need to try and remember.

·         All belong and are welcome to attend youth group.  This means that you can bring your friends who are youth aged (Yr7-Yr12) and it also means that we don’t discriminate against or bully those who are attending.
·         We use language which is inclusive and will not offend others. This means we consider what we say and how we say it and don’t use swear words or offensive language.
·         We are respectful of others around us. This means we use our manners, listen to instructions and others talking, put away distractions such as technology when necessary, and consider an appropriate volume of noise for the environment.
·          We build community and work as a team. This means that we stick together at events, we include everyone, and don’t have cliques or groups which exclude others.
·          We try new things and make our own fun. This means we join in with all activities and make things fun, we may not always like the activity happening but someone in the room does and needs our encouragement and support by joining in with them.
·         We value and encourage each other.  This means we speak life into each other and show encouragement and support for all people in all aspects of their lives.  Greet each other in public, congratulate them on their achievements and value their knowledge and hobbies.
·         We explore what faith and being a Christian means to us.  This means that we understand we all have different faith backgrounds and experiences but seek to journey and learn from each other and God through teaching, studies, prayer and the bible.
·         We are a part of Naracoorte Uniting Church. This means we try to have the values of the church as part of who we are.  We try to show extravagant love to those around us, make sure what we do has fulfilling involvement for all and we want to have growing faithfulness as we explore more about life & faith and hope filled expectancy because of who Jesus is.

Anything you think I should add or remove? Does this encompass the heart of what youth ministry should be? Thoughts or comments?
